Groupon Offer - FAQs

What areas do the maps cover?
All the maps cover England & Wales. The Old Series, the Revised New Series and the two present-day maps also cover Scotland. None of the maps cover Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man (postcodes starting with BT, GY, JE or IM) as Ordnance Survey did not produce maps of these areas in these series.

What date are the maps?
The maps were all published at different times from the early 19th century to the present day. The date ranges are shown on the main promotion page.

The exact date/s of the original map/s used to create the mapping you have selected will be shown on a panel on the top edge of your canvas.

How do I select the point on which my map is to be centred?
By specifying a complete GB (please see ‘What area do the maps cover?’ above) postcode (eg AA99 9YZ, not just AA99) in the search box and clicking on ‘see your map’. The postcode you have selected will appear at the top of the next screen (‘Printed Canvases for: AA99 9YZ’) Please be sure to check here that you have entered the correct postcode as maps cannot be exchanged, replaced or refunded as a result of such mistakes.

I don’t know the complete postcode of the location I want to centre my map on. What shall I do?
If you type the name of the village, town, street or other geographical descriptor into an internet search engine such as Google you will quickly find details of places such as shops, pubs or schools at or close to your desired location. Use one of those postcodes for your search.

Having selected the postcode and clicked ‘See your map’ I am looking a page with seven canvas print images. What is this?
Each one is a reduced view of the mapping available for the postcode you have selected. The postcode will be confirmed at the top of the screen; please check this is correct. Note that these images show exactly the mapping that will appear on your canvas so be sure to check you are happy with this. You can view the centre-point of any map by clicking the ‘view map centre’ button beneath each image.

Once you have selected the map series you require, click on the appropriate ‘add to basket’ button. Please be sure to check you have selected the correct button as maps cannot be exchanged, replaced or refunded as a result of such mistakes.

I can see map joins or differences in background tints on these images. What can be done about this?
Our mapping database was created from scanning and combining thousands of original sheets, none of which were designed to be joined together, and despite our best efforts, on rare occasions the joins are visible. In general, the more recent the map the less this happens. If you are in any doubt, choose another mapping series from that page or select a different postcode (see next question). Please be sure to check you have considered this before confirming your order as maps cannot be exchanged, replaced or refunded as a result of your not having done so.

How can I create a map centred on a different postcode?
Simply hit the Back button on the website and enter a different postcode. The new postcode you have selected will appear at the top of the next screen (‘Printed Canvases for: AA99 9YZ’) Please be sure to check here that you have entered the correct postcode as maps cannot be exchanged, replaced or refunded as a result of such mistakes. You may need to empty the cache on your web browser to allow the maps for a different location to be displayed.

What area will my canvas print cover?
The area covered will depend on the scale of the map you have chosen. Not including any part of the mapping which appears on the edges as a result of the gallery wrap, the approximate area of coverage (in kms) is as follows: County Series (1:10,000): 9 x 6. Present day 1:25,000: 23 x 15. Present day 1:50,000 45 x 30. All other maps (1:40,000): 36 x 24.

What ordering formalities are there?
They are as simple as they can be bearing in mind what we need to know to supply your order and your own desire for security. Once you have added your chosen map to your shopping basket, click the ‘Checkout’ button. Follow the appropriate link depending on whether you are a new customer or not. Please be sure to enter your personal details correctly, including your email address, and take a few moments to check them before confirming.

I am a new customer and I’m being asked to create a password. What’s that for?
All our customer records require, as do those on most websites, an email address and an identification. This not only avoids your having to re-enter address details for subsequent orders (although you can change the delivery address on each occasion if you wish) but also gives you access the area of our site where PDF downloads are held, should you order these in the future. There are no financial-security implications to the password you choose (see below), so we suggest that you pick something that is easy to remember but which is not the same as any password you use for high-security transactions such as online banking.

Will the password contain or give access to any details of the payment card I have used?
Absolutely not. We operate a secure-payment website. This means that as soon as your order has been created and your customer details supplied or confirmed you are transferred to our merchant service, RBSWorldpay, which will process the details of your payment using the highest security precautions. For this reason, for each future order you will need to re-enter your payment-card details.

I’m an existing customer and I cannot remember my password. What shall I do?
Click on ‘forgotten password’ and we’ll email it to you. If this doesn’t arrive more or less immediately it may have got caught up in a spam filter either on your computer or at your ISP. If so, please email customerservices@cassinimaps.com and we’ll either send you your old password or change it to a new one you request.

How will I know when my order has been processed?
This will be confirmed on the final transaction screen. You should then receive two emails, one from Cassini confirming the order and one from WorldPay (our secure ordering gateway) confirming the payment. If there has been any problem with the transaction, the website should advise you of this.
My order seemed to go through but I have not had the two emails confirming this. What should I do?
Emails sometimes get caught up in spam filters and the like, either on your computer or at your ISP. If you are still concerned, please email customerservices@cassinimaps.com and we shall investigate further for you.

I am experiencing problems with the website. What shall I do?
Our website has won awards for its ease of use and has successfully created tens of thousands of personalised maps – but problems can happen. The most common cause is a conflict between your web browser or operating system and the website. Try emptying the cache on your browser or, if you have another one (Safari, Firefox, IE etc – all are freely downloadable), try using that. If the problem persists, please email support@cassinimaps.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Our automatic fault-tracker detects most problems very quickly so it may be we’ve solved the issue before you need to contact us.

How long will my canvas print take to arrive?
We aim to get all canvas prints delivered within 10 working days of the order being successfully placed on our website. These will be delivered by a weekday signed-for service so you may want to have it delivered to a place such as an office where there will be someone in during working hours.

If your canvas print has not arrived within 10 working days, and if you are sure the courier firm has not left a card while you were out, please email groupon@cassinimaps.com. Please be sure to supply your name, your full delivery address and your five-figure Cassini order number. We shall then investigate and get back to you as soon as possible.

I have a problem with my canvas print. What shall I do?
Please contact groupon@cassinimaps.com. Please be sure to specify your name, your five-figure Cassini order number and the nature of the problem. In the unlikely event that your canvas has arrived damaged please retain all packaging. We shall then investigate and get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I use the maps for commercial purposes such as printing them in a book?
No, not without our prior permission: all these maps are © Cassini Publishing Ltd. Please contact customerservices@cassinimaps.com telling us what you wish to do with the map/s and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
